About the Practitioner

Jan Saxton, Certified Bowenwork Practitioner, Associate Bowenwork Instructor

I have been practicing Bowen on friends and family since I first learned it in 2006. After leaving my job as Senior Media Analyst in 2012 I became a Certified Bowenwork Practitioner in 2013 and an Associate Bowenwork Instructor in 2014.

Bowenwork is amazing in its ability to address both acute injuries and chronic pain, restore balance to the body, strengthen the immune system, and lift the spirits.

I discovered Bowenwork when I tried to pull an air conditioner out of a window while bending over and twisting around--not good! I herniated a disc and couldn't stand for more than a few minutes or walk for more than a few steps for the next six months.

I tried everything I knew to help it heal--acupuncture, massage, chiropractic--but nothing was able to relieve the pain or start the healing process until I found Bowen. After the very first session my back pain started to ease and for the first time I had hope of returning to a normal life. It was a severe injury and it took a series of treatments over six months, but I am now recovered and back to all my fun activities, including hauling heavy stuff around, hiking, backpacking and scuba diving.

I love Bowen because it can do so much to restore health and comfort to my clients. As the practitioner, the energy created by a Bowenwork session puts me in a calm, centered, prayerful state that allows profound healing to take place.
